Un o una for Problema?

People who are trying to learn Spanish sometimes have a hard time figuring out the gender or things.

Masculine nouns generally end in -o and feminine nouns generally end in -a

“Problema” is one of those words that you might categorize as a feminine noun but it is a masculine one.

When you say “problema o problemas”, remember that we use; un, muchos, los y el, demasiados, tantos etc


Why is Problema Masculine?

If you read or listen to Spanish native speakers, you will learn the gender of nouns by interacting with them, listening and reading what they have to say.

Some people want to know the reason why Problema is a masculine noun but guess what.

99.9% of Spanish Native speakers won’t be able to tell you why.

We just learn it. We know it might be confusing for people trying to learn Spanish.

If I tell you that problema comes from Greek or from Latin, how is that gonna help you communicate?

You don’t need to know that.
